Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
