Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's only away victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.
My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
