Star Denies Anti-Vaccine Position Following Lending His Voice To Controversial Pandemic Feature
The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccinations and commends one-time cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Foundation
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a popular book written by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for assertions that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.
Her writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's participation in the project.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of the actor have issued a statement firmly refuting implications that he holds anti-vaccine sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the response reads. "Neeson never has been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The response noted that the performer was not involved in crafting the documentary's narrative and that concerns about its content ought to go to the creators.
Central Assertions Featured in the Feature
As presented, the script provided by Neeson includes several controversial claims:
- It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
- It argues that "science has become dangerously politicized."
- Kennedy is interviewed stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The narration takes aim at Covid lockdowns, saying they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Background and Ongoing Disputes
The documentary also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.
Last month, Kennedy called on the CDC to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, even with a recent study from the global health body reiterating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the end of our narrative. It is the start of a fresh chapter."
