President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The president explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.

“She was the individual that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” the principal, the head of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The incident prompted the administration to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop granting entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told a news show that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
