The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. This character can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that role reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and cartoon version.
The new cast member will work alongside multiple recently announced actors who will portray the group to life, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.
Although the role is a key figure of the organization, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the placement of their first appearance, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
