Vince Zampella, Dies in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure died after his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, his loved ones, and all those touched by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
